Comprehensive diagnostic examination

The diagnosis is carried out by a clinical psychologist who has specialised psychological methods at his disposal. The examination takes the form of an interview, obtaining a detailed medical history, followed by a clinical assessment that includes psychological tests, questionnaires and behavioural observations. Based on the data obtained, a diagnostic formulation is then carried out where a diagnosis is made and treatment goals are formulated.

The main aim of the psychological examination is not to assign a diagnosis, but to gain a detailed understanding of the patient's difficulties, their course, possible causes and overall context.

This examination is carried out in at least two sessions.

Neuropsychological examination

The examination is performed in patients with suspected cognitive deficits caused by a neurological disorder.

Neuropsychological diagnosis usually consists of a neuropsychological battery, an anamnestic interview and observation.

Neuropsychological assessment is the process of evaluating cognitive function, emotional state, and behavior to identify possible brain disorders. It begins with obtaining a medical history and is followed by a series of tests focusing on memory, attention, language skills, motor skills and other cognitive areas. The examination may also include specific tests to assess emotions and mental state.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can be imagined as regular conversations with a therapist who is the patient's "guide" to his or her inner world.

The aim of psychotherapy is not only to relieve symptoms, but also to improve understanding of the self so that the client can lead a fuller and happier life. On the part of the client, psychotherapy requires motivation to work systematically on oneself, curiosity and openness to change.
