Psychodiagnostics of children

A comprehensive psychodiagnostic examination is carried out by child psychologists in at least two sessions using specialized psychological methods.

Child psychodiagnosis is a process used to assess the psychological state, emotions, behaviour and development of children. It begins by gathering information about the child from a variety of sources, such as interviews with parents and other relevant people. This is followed by the use of various psychological tests, questionnaires and observations of the child in different contexts such as school, family or play therapy.

These methods are used to assess cognitive abilities, emotional state, social skills and other aspects of development. The results are interpreted in the light of age norms, compared with typical development and any deviations identified. These results are then used to develop an individual intervention, therapy or support plan that is tailored to the child's needs.

The whole process is sensitive to the child's age, temperament and context and includes talking to the child and involving them in the assessment.
